LAHORE: The much-anticipated National Men’s U19 three-day Championship and One-Day Cup are slated to kick off on Tuesday, 10th September.

In an intricate arrangement, each round of the three-day encounters will be followed by corresponding one-day clashes, culminating in an extensive total of 98 matches spread over an intense 61-day span.

A total of 18 teams representing 16 regional sectors will be competing for glory, with the final of the one-day competition set for 22nd October, while the three-day title showdown will unfold between 6th and 9th November. The venues for these decisive finals are to be unveiled shortly.

These 18 regional squads are strategically divided into three groups. The matches, which will follow a single-league format, will continue up to 12th October.

The second phase will witness the top three teams from each group in the one-day format, battling it out in a round-robin league between 16th and 22nd October. This will be followed by three-day contests among the group leaders, running from 25th October to 9th November.

Peshawar will endeavor to retain their crown in the three-day format, while Karachi Whites will look to defend their one-day title.

Team selections have been meticulously crafted, based on performances in the Regional Inter-District U19 Tournament held from 23rd May to 10th June, a contest that saw participation from 104 district teams.

The National Men’s U19 Championship and Cup serve as a prime opportunity for emerging talents to showcase their skills and potentially secure a spot in the Pakistan U19 squad, gearing up for the tri-nation 50-over series in November in the UAE, followed by the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup in 2024.
